WALL TO CEILINGS SOLUTIONS |
F.R.P. PANELS
We have found the improper use of FRP panels is common with many installations. Traditionally FRP panels have been installed over many different substrates using various fasteners. The use of mechanical fasteners should be eliminated or at least kept to the bare minimum. Every time you put a hole in a panel you decrease the effectiveness of the FRP panel itself. Installation recommendations from most FRP manufacturers are consistent and mechanical fasteners are recommended. We do not agree with this approach. FRP panels come in various thicknesses, sizes, and have different fire ratings. All of these factors contribute to how a panel will perform. We have found that having installed FRP panels from all of the manufactures in North America, at one time or another, the basic characteristics of the panels remains the same. Factors that will contribute to the expansion and contraction of the panel itself. |
